The Canoeist is located just 20 miles out of Duluth in Two Harbors, MN, an ideal location for your next paddling adventure. We provide canoe rentals, along with fully guided day and overnight trips on one of Minnesota’s pristine North Shore rivers.

Heading to the Boundary Waters? We offer canoes and gear for rent at very affordable prices. We also carry any gear you?ll need for your trip in our storefront. You can reach any entry point in the Boundary Waters from our store!
Guided Trips
Deciding where to take your next adventure? We offer fully guided overnight trips on one of Minnesotas North Shore rivers. These rivers provide fast travel, great fishing and pristine country.
Enjoy the amenities of home, but still have a taste for some adventure? Stay at one of our nearby resorts at night, while you take a fully guided canoe trip during the day.
Where We Paddle
We have over 325 miles of navigable rivers designated by the state as managed canoe routes, all within an hour’s drive of our storefront. Enjoy the serenity and wildlife along the Cloquet, St. Louis, and Whiteface Rivers.
The Guides
Our guides have years of experience and a passion for the outdoors. All guides are First Aid & CPR certified. They love to be out on the water, and will most likely rub off some of that passion on to you. You will also receive a quick orientation before the trip, discussing safety and paddling information. Whether you have never paddled before, or are an old veteran, our guides will accommodate you.

Rates
Rental Rates are per boat. Package includes an aluminum canoe, paddles and pfd’s. We can provide cartop carriers and straps if needed.
Half Day: $20.00
Full Day: $30.00
2+ Days: $25.00
Ultra Light Package
Includes a 17'10" kevlar canoe, life jackets,
paddles, yoke pads, and cartop system. Langford Ultra Light, 46 lbs: $38/day
Guided day trips include the use of gear, shuttle service and an experienced guide. Additionally, overnight trips include meals and the use of the guide’s gear, including tents, stoves, packs, filters and more.
